IJH College Scholarship Applications Available
This $1000 scholarship is available to former IJH students graduating this year. Based on the following critiera: Extra curricular and community service activities, Character references, Essay response and minimum GPA of 2.5. Applications available EHS counciling office. College Bound Scholarship – April 2011
Your child may be eligible to receive a College Bound Scholarship. Eligibility is based on one of these requirements:
- Eligibility for free or reduced lunch.
- Being a foster youth.
- Receiving TANF benefits
- Meeting the family income requirements.
As an eligible student you must complete the application and pledge while your student is still in 7th or 8th grade. Students who apply agree to the following pledge:

Graduate from a WA State High School or home school with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or high.

Demonstrate good citizenhsip in my school and community and stay crime free.
- Submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FASA) form.
- Apply to an eligible college.
You may be wondering how to do this. It’s really quite simple!
- Apply on line: www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound or you may request a paper application by calling 1-888-535-0747
- Make sure that your application is in by June 30th of your child’s 8th grade year.
- When your application is complete you will receive a College Bound Certificate.
What (you may ask) does is specifically pay for?
- The amount of the College Bound Scholarship is based on the tuition at public college rates not covered by other financial aid.
- Plus………$500 each year for books.
Where can you use this scholarship?
You can earn a certificate or degree at:
- A Washington public community and technical college.
- Public four-year institutions
- Accredited independent college or university
- Private Career School
